Ramco Fabricators has universal tooling to roll all structural steel,
from flat bar and angle up through heavy beams and channel, in any
orientation you need: easy way or hard way, flange in or flange out, leg in
or leg out. We roll curved roof beams, tank stiffener rings, circular
handrail, cambered floor beams, spiral stair stringers, and plenty more.
If it is a structural shape and it needs a curve, send it our way!
We roll full circles, segments, and spirals in most of these shapes, and
we camber floor and roof beams. Carbon and stainless steel are our
specialty, and we will gladly quote other materials on request.

The minimum radius depends on the section, the size, and the direction it
is rolled, so we quote it job by job. Send us the shape, size, and radius
and we can tell you quickly whether it will roll. Larger pipe and cylinders
are rolled from plate on our plate rolls.
Plate Rolling
Our 3-roll plate rolls take steel up to 1-1/4 inch thick and 10 feet wide,
down to a 24 inch inside diameter. The rolls are the cornerstone of the
company and the starting point for most of what we build, including
cylinders, cones, and large pipe. See the
plate rolling page for the full capacity
table.
Who Sends Us Rolling Work
We roll for steel fabricators and erectors who do not own rolls, tank and
vessel shops that need stiffener rings and wear plates, millwrights and
conveyor builders, architectural metal shops, and general contractors with
a curved feature on the drawings. We are happy to roll your material or to
quote it furnished, and we ship nationwide or hold your parts for pickup
here in Colfax. If the rolled piece needs to become a finished weldment,
our fabrication shop is under the same roof.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the largest beam you can roll?
We roll wide flange beams up to a W24 the easy way and a W8 the hard way,
and S beams up to S24. Channel goes to C15 the easy way and C8 the hard
way, and angle and tube go up to 8 x 8 x 1/2 inch.
What is the tightest radius you can roll?
It depends on the shape, the size, and the direction. Flat bar and small
angle can go very tight, while large beams rolled the hard way need a more
generous radius. Send us the section and the radius and we can tell you
quickly whether it will roll.
Will there be distortion?
There is always a little. Rolling stretches the outside of the section and
compresses the inside, so flanges and legs can wave or tilt. We keep it to
a minimum with careful setup, and we will tell you up front what to expect
for your section and radius.
Can you roll a full circle?
Yes! We roll rings, full circles, and multi-segment circles welded into one
piece, with the splices wherever you want them.
Do you roll stainless structural shapes?
Yes! Carbon and stainless steel are our specialty, and we will gladly quote
other materials when the job calls for them.
We will gladly prepare a customized quote for you.
